Deep connection

The gestalt approach to coaching enables you to get in touch with your whole self. It helps you to develop awareness and insights into your reactions to issues and development needs. Moreover, it helps you to identify and reflect on the patterns of your behavior, allowing you to take steps to change what you have to change. Why not discover this approach by practicing it with us?

Grounding and living the present

Gestalt Coaching focuses on the present. Our goal is to help you stay fully present with your experience. Staying present means remaining in the here and now. After all, grounding yourself in the present is more effective than returning to the past and getting lost in uncertainties. Grounding facilitates the acceptance process of emerging events.

Presence is an important aspect of you and your relationships. It is about grounding in who we are, what we know, and where we came from. Grounding helps to bring us to the here and now. Working on your presence can create trust that makes people around you feel safe and supported. This support can provide a safe ground for experimenting, providing options for change, within the context of the coaching relationship.

Through coaching, we have the opportunity to model ways of dealing with challenges and problems. The experience enables you to live the here and now. We invite you to try out potential solutions through creative experiments.

Deepening awareness

The coaching helps you become more aware of what you are doing and how you are doing it; which are the choices available for you to mobilize change. Our intention is to raise your awareness in the present moment as we understand that there is a direct relationship between the level of awareness and the potential for new choices of behavior.

Gestalt is broad and explores experiments used as a way of raising awareness and getting insights. Experiments are those crafted experiences containing a level of challenge. They can be potent learning experiences, offering you a chance to take risks in a safe space, preparing her for future situations. In our coaching sessions, we experiment, acknowledge important inner aspects, and allow ourselves to feel what we feel.

The method

We have integrated gestalt therapy into coaching as a way of supporting you on different levels. One of the techniques is the “Head, Heart, and Body Scan”, which invites us to anchor our mind in the various sensations of our body, at rest. The objectives include the development of attentional regulation, body awareness, acceptance, and kindness to the sensations that may manifest at any moment. It is not a relaxation exercise, although relaxation may occur. It is about welcoming your feelings; allowing yourself to sense them.

Another activity part of the gestalt approach is the “Ginger’s Pentagram”, which presents a pentagram describing five dimensions that conform to the human being: physical and spiritual as the base; social, emotional, and intellectual. Besides, it is helpful to identify difficulties, encourage interest in a project, and outline the conditions to succeed. For that, the method has the following steps

  • Drawing a pentagram
  • Taking a time to pay attention to the feelings and sensations in your body
  • Taking a short time to pay attention to your energy level
  • Acknowledging your emotions ‘here-and-now’
  • Acknowledging your thoughts
  • Acknowledging issues or questions you may have
  • Focusing on your behavior
  • Reflecting on your values, principles, and models
  • Answering deep questions that will allow you to reflect

The activity will be guided, encouraging you to feel what you feel; giving you time to acknowledge important aspects of yourself. The five branches represent the five main dimensions of human activity: the physical dimension; the emotional dimension; the rational dimension; the social dimension; and the spiritual dimension. Another powerful way of being in contact with your whole self is through the chair exercise, which connects your head and heart. We are happy to provide you with
